Well, hunters, it doesn’t seem like you’re going to be behind console players for long. Capcom has released a new Monster Hunter World: Iceborne 2020 roadmap for upcoming free post-launch content updates for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. By April, both PC and Console content updates will sync. So, starting with version 13.5, PC and Console players will be up to date with the upcoming MHW events.

The free content will include challenging monsters for players to conquer, expanded gameplay features, limited-time events, and more. I suppose that the best news for PC players is that they will have loads of content to play around within the upcoming updates. There’s a huge chunk of information to go through, so let’s make this smooth.

Monster Hunter x Resident Evil 2 cross over event

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne X Resident Evil Collab on PC

The first major update in the Iceborne 2020 roadmap will come on February 6, 2020. It includes the ruthless fan-favorite monster Rajang. Not only that, but PC players will finally get access to the Resident Evil 2 collaboration as well during this update.

If you need a quick reminder of what the RE2 event will be like, hunters can acquire materials to craft Leon α+ and Claire α+ full armor sets. Of course, this also means that characters like Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield will visit the world of Monster Hunter.

The update will also bring several cosmetics for Your Room. In fact, you can decorate it with a variety of themed decorations themed around survival horror. The best decorations are by far the iconic typewriter and item box. Another cool addition is going to be the ability to visit other players’ rooms. So, you’ll be able to see what creative and crazy pieces of architecture your fellow hunters can come up with.

During February, Console players will get some special event quests, featuring:

  • High encounter rate for gold crown monsters
  • Increased decoration rewards drop rate
  • Great Spiritvein Gem rewards (March)
  • Higher Master Rank point gains

More Challenges for Seasoned Hunters Incoming

On March 12, the PC Version of Iceborne will star Stygian Zinogre, a more vicious subspecies of the electrifying fan-favorite Zinogre. This monster will throw some hunters for a loop with its ability to control multiple elements instead of just lightning.

The update will also introduce a new Tundra Region which will expand the Guiding Lands further with a snowy landscape that’s home to bone-chilling monsters such as Barioth and Viper Tobi-Kadachi. What’s more, Capcom added an incentive for hunters to explore the Tundra Region. You’ll be able to use several special materials exclusive to the Tundra Region to upgrade your weapons.

Finally, PC Hunters will be able to test their skills with the challenging Safi’jiiva Siege to earn an arsenal of new Awakened weapons and craft powerful armor sets. This will not be an easy task for Hunters, but I’m pretty sure the challenge is feasible for well-seasoned players.

Console players will only get 2 new monster variants during March. These 2 new monster variants are going to become available on the PC Version come April’s update. Speaking of April…

Sync Time!

April will be the time where both Console and PC players will be playing the same game. Perhaps this might open the possibility of cross-play between systems, although there’s nothing certain about this. Regardless, the update scheduled for April will bring New Arch-Tempered and Master Rank versions of existing monsters.

The April update will bring be available at the same time for both PC and console players, followed by the return of a fan-favorite monster in May. More synced updates and additional monsters will be available in June and beyond, with details coming at a later date.

Additionally, both console and PC players will be able to celebrate the game’s second Anniversary from January 23 to February 13. You’ll be able to become part of the celebration in either the cosmic Grand Appreciation Fest for Iceborne players or the returning Appreciation Fest in the Astera Gathering Hub available for all players.

Late February also marks the PC arrival of the limited time Holiday Joy Fest, providing a chance to get new layered armor, handler outfit, Poogie clothing and more. Here’s the roadmap in full for those who want the full summary of events:
